Please Pray

Johanna is very sad this morning. I'm not exactly sure about what, since she won't type anything on google translate right now.

She wouldn't eat breakfast, but I did insist she drink some juice.

I'm pretty sure she is having some let-down now that the excitement over going back to the orphanage is over, and this is "final".

She did shake her head "yes" when I asked her if she was scared to go to America. Poor thing. She must be terrified at all of the changes. She had never even SLEPT away from the orphanage for her whole life.

I've let her watch Tom and Jerry this morning, as TV is a comfort for her, but I'm hoping our guide will be able to help me when we see her at 10:30.

Johanna's medical exam is this morning and she will probably need shots, plus a TB test. This is going to be very hard for her, and trust me, I HATE having to get it done.....

So, dear friends, will you pray for my Johanna's heart to be comforted, her exam to go well, and our bonding to continue? God is able, and I'm trusting HIM to help me help Johanna.

  7. Selina, praying for ya'll. The orphanage visit was tough for Avery (Yang Ya) as well, if fact she ran screaming to the van with her dad. It is such a huge change for her and as much as she wants this, she is leaving everything she knows. Avery tells us now she was scared to come to america because she didn't know what to expect. Just keep giving her that wonderful mama love!!

  10. I am so sorry for your daughter. Ivy had those same days and it really helped when I showed her blogs of other girls who experienced the same thing that she is going through. Feel free to show her our blog, click on Ivy's referral, then travel. She probably won't recognize her (Ivy did not recognize your daughter), but Ivy had that same sadness about her after a few days. I think it is reality of a new life, missing the old one. Today, as I showed Ivy all the pictures of her home and school from your blog, she just smiled, remembering. I asked her if she missed her home and school, and she sweetly replied, "no". Johanna will be fine. It just takes time and patience.

  11. Of course you have my prayers-the new ones are just a continuation of those I already offer up-for safe travel, for kindness from strangers and comfort for Johanna. She would not be normal if she did not get sad and scared; these emotions really are a blessing. If she didn't experience them, it would be like she is going on an exciting field trip. Not how you want joining your family to be viewed.

  13. Praying for precious Johanna. 13 is such a tender age for a young women, I can't even imagine how incredibly timid and brave she must be all at once.

For God did not give her a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7
